Alice M. Just the other day I was thinking “Why is that live missing from the recently created InsideOut BC page?” xD
Some of those tracks are near-legendary performances in my book. “Slave”’s intensity is sooo palpable. Favorite track: Slave.

about

“Live At Rockefeller Music Hall” marks the first live-release by groundbreaking Norwegian modern progressive metal group LEPROUS. Often stressed as one of the most active and impressive live-acts of their generation and genre, this release proves the public acclaim to be well deserved.

The epic material was captured on a hometown show event in Oslo on June 4th of this year and doesn’t only present a fresh status-take on LEPROUS based on the current setlist for their latest album “The Congregation”, but also explores a variety of cuts from their entertaining catalogue and features various guest appearances as part of this special concert. The show’s audio material was recorded/mixed by David Castillo as well as mastered by Tony Lindgren of Fascination Street Studios.

LEPROUS frontman Einar Solberg checked in as follows explaining the concept of this release: “We've been perfecting our live shows over many years, and we felt we were finally ready to eternalize it on a live release. LEPROUS is very much a live band, and therefore a live recording seemed like a good idea. I would not say we're closing a chapter with this release, but rather showing what we've become. Not only as a studio band, but especially as a live band. That being said, we're a band who's always looking forward and we will continue to do so. We've been building our live show through many years, and this release is definitely a testimony to that.”

Before further elaborating on the show’s content and the choice of tracks: “In addition that it's one of the longest concerts we've done, there were several special appearances on the recording: The one and only Ihsahn, our previous drummer Tobias Ørnes Andersen and the fantastic violinist Håkon Aase. Also you might see some very amusing bonus material, never shared with the public before. When we build a setlist, we're mostly considering creating a comprehensive atmosphere, rather than just choosing the most requested songs. It's very important for us to keep the atmosphere throughout the setlist, and the songs we chose for this live album does that perfectly. We even removed one song we're usually always playing (also a song loved by the audience) because we felt it conflicted too much with the overall mood.”
