In April 2016, Germany’s post-rock/alternative act LONG DISTANCE CALLING released its fifth studio album “TRIPS” to massive acclaim from prog fans, metal heads, rockers and alternative fans alike resulting in a fabulous #23 in the German charts, topping the #33 achieved in 2013 with “The Flood Inside”. Rightfully praised by Visions mag as “Germany’s most exciting band blending prog and metal”, InsideOut Music started revisiting the band’s previous releases in the same year. In 2017, this series of high class re-issues culminates in the re-release of “Satellite Bay”, the band’s debut album as as an expanded edition which contains the band's debut demo/EP release, the four-song "DMNSTRTN", now freshly remastered and revitalized.

Nowadays featuring a permanent vocalist, LONG DISTANCE CALLING originally kicked off their career as entirely instrumental band fusing post-rock, alternative, metal, and prog influences before starting to invite high-profile vocalists as special guests. First up was Peter Dolving (ex-The Haunted) on this release.

But right now, it is time to lean back and delve into the entirely instrumental sonic cosmos of LONG DISTANCE CALLING (well, except for “Built Without Hands”), and enjoy the beginnings of one of Germany’s finest, forward-thinking rock bands.
